Reaction Time Test

Click the box, wait for it to turn green, then click again as fast as you can. Five rounds, timed to the millisecond.

Test area

Clicking while the box is still red/yellow counts as too soon and restarts that round — it doesn't count against your average.

What this actually tests

This measures the time between a visual change (the box turning green) and your click reaching the browser — a rough proxy for simple visual reaction time. Typical human reaction time to a visual stimulus is around 200-250ms; competitive gamers often land in the 150-200ms range. Display lag, input lag from a wireless mouse, and browser performance all add a small amount of overhead on top of your actual reflexes, so treat this as a consistent comparison tool rather than a lab-grade measurement.

Getting a fair reading

  1. Rest your hand on the mouse before starting — the first round often measures "getting ready," not reflexes.
  2. Run it a few times; reaction time naturally varies round to round.
  3. A wired mouse and a wired or low-latency display will read faster than a laggy wireless setup, independent of your actual reflexes.
