Cookies Policy

Last updated: September 23, 2026

This page explains which cookies and similar technologies are used on hardwaretesthub.net, what each one is for, and how you control them. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which covers data handling more broadly.

The short version

We set no cookies of our own. The diagnostic tools on this site need none — they run entirely in your browser and store nothing. The only cookies that can be set here come from Google, for advertising, and only after you accept them in the banner.

What a cookie is

A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store, which the browser sends back on later visits. It lets a site recognise a returning browser. Related technologies — local storage, session storage — do a similar job without being cookies in the strict sense, and we treat them the same way here.

Categories used on this site

Category What it does Set without consent?
Strictly necessary Nothing on this site requires one. The tools work with cookies fully blocked. None set
Preferences Your cookie banner choice, stored in local storage as hth-cookie-consent. Only after you choose
Advertising Google AdSense cookies used to select and frequency-cap ads, and to measure them. No — denied until you accept
Analytics Aggregate traffic measurement, if enabled in future. No — denied until you accept

Your consent choice

On your first visit a banner asks whether you accept cookies for advertising and measurement. Until you make a choice, this site runs with Google Consent Mode v2 defaults set to denied for ad storage, ad personalization, ad user data, and analytics storage. Ads shown before you choose are non-personalized.

If you accept, those four consent signals move to granted and Google may set advertising cookies. If you decline, they stay denied.

Your choice is recorded in your browser's local storage under the key hth-cookie-consent, with a value of accepted or declined. That entry stays on your device and is never sent to us or to anyone else — we deliberately do not use a cookie to record it.

Changing or withdrawing consent

Clear this site's stored data in your browser. That removes the saved choice, and the banner will appear again on your next visit so you can decide differently.

You can also block cookies for this site entirely in your browser settings. Doing so does not break anything — every tool here works with cookies blocked, because none of them use cookies in the first place.

Third-party advertising cookies

Where you have accepted, Google acts as a third-party vendor and may use cookies, including the DoubleClick cookie, to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. We do not control those cookies, cannot read them, and receive no personal data from them.

You can manage personalized advertising directly with Google at Google Ads Settings, and opt out of third-party vendors more broadly at aboutads.info/choices or youronlinechoices.com in Europe.

What the diagnostic tools store

Nothing. Pointer positions, clicks, scroll events, keypresses and gesture data are processed in your browser and discarded as soon as you leave the page. None of it is written to a cookie, saved to local storage, or transmitted to any server. That is a design decision, not a side effect — it is why the tools work with all storage blocked.

Changes to this policy

If the cookies used here change, this page is updated along with the "Last updated" date above. Material changes to how consent works will also be reflected in the banner itself.
